What are Anti-Bullying Mentors
Anti-Bully Mentors support others within the school with friendship problems. They are upstanders against bullying behaviour and a support network for their peers. They stand to shape attitudes and change behaviours. An Anti-Bully Mentor can also be a listening ear to anyone that may want to talk to someone, other than an adult, about something going on.
In our school we have Anti-Bully Mentors from Year 2 through to Year 6 (2 per class). These mentors are specifically chosen because of their exemplary behaviour and qualities. Qualities include being trustworthy, good at listening, respectful, understanding and inclusive. Anti-Bully Mentors meet with the Head Teacher at least once a term to discuss issues and help to drive the school forward.
